Coach Shane Winter is entering his 21st year of coaching H.S. basketball. Coach Winter is a proud graduate and salutatorian of Stringtown Schools, Class of 92, where he played for Coach Tony Potts. Coach pursued an associate degree at Eastern OK State College, where he lettered in basketball. Coach’s post-graduate degree was completed at East Central University, where he played under legendary coach, Wayne Cobb. After graduation, Coach Winter enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he spent 3 years with the 82nd Airborne and 2 years in the reserves. Coach Winter completed his graduate degree at Southern Nazarene University in educational leadership.

Coach has worked at Lane schools, Moyers schools & Stringtown in his 20-year career. He has posted over 400 wins & has completed his 11th straight winning season.

Coach Winter lives & works on his family land, located in Redden, OK, and has 2 sons, Nate and Bentley, and 1 daughter, Sadie.

Coach spends his time away from school studying wildlife management, mechanics, and reading science fiction books
